Well, first off, I'd like to say that this is my first time blogging, and I'm not sure what I think of the idea yet. I have been asked to blog and record interesting video's that spark a sense of imagination and innovation for a film class that I am currently taking. So...with that being said, here we go.
Upon doing some research and watching several videos on youtube for ideas on stop motion aminators, I have come to a very general idea. Most of the videos that I have seen, while they are rather fascinating, they are rather dark. Many of the videos have underlaying elements of political views, along with quite personal viewpoints.
One of the examples that I wanted to share tonight was to the song Paralized by The Used. While listening to the lyrics, it is simple to see how the stop motion film seems to fit perfectly with it. For instance, the song speaks about doing the same mundane things day in and day out, and the stop motion of the singers "moving" about their day almost illudes to the effect that they are just floating along...no longer really aware of the world and the surroundings about them. I encourage you to watch the video and make your own opinions about what I am refering to, but regardless, it is a great song to enjoy just the same. The last thing that I would like to mention would be the fact that The Used mixes stop frame animation with film footage, which allows for a much more interactive scene in my opinion. Enjoy.
